Benefits for collecting the nursery run-off water

  1. Environmental - All run-off from our nursery growing areas is collected in a lined storage for reuse instead of draining to the water table or creeks. This nursery run-off water can, at times, contain fertilisers and spray contaminants.
  2. Environmental - The irrigation water that we were previously using was drawn from a spring fed dam which then overflows into an Emigrant Creek tributory. This water will now be returned into the catchment. Implementation of this project should annually add approximately 10 megaliter (ML) of water to our local creek system.
  3. Water Savings - Typically, 50% of irrigation water is wasted as sprinklers water areas between plants and access pathways. This run-off water can now be collected, effectively halfing our annual water requirements. Bamboo World should save approximately 5ML annually.
