Description

This magnificent erect, clean green, vigorous, straight-culmed superior bamboo is a classic amongst the larger species. Its otherwise smooth culms are increasingly sandpaper-rough to touch on the upper internodes and its large light green leaves slightly rough textured. Known as the "sweet bamboo" for its young edible shoots which are covered in purple-black hairs. It is extensively used for building structures, handicrafts, furniture, weaving etc. Attractive very strong and highly recommended. .
