Description
This clone is ex-Indonesia and is not recommended for plantation use. A magnificent giant, it is the most important large diameter structural and furniture making clumping bamboo in Asia and a close relative of the most important "clumping" edible shoot producer (see D asper "Thai Green" below) with huge plantations in Thailand. a mature clump is a truly awesome sight with its huge relatively straight furry grey green lower culms framed in dense very large-leafed upper growth. Lower culm nodes mostly have aerial roots. It has huge dark brown purple-tinged hairy deliciously edible shoots. Very highly recommended.
