Description

Forms tight erect clumps with attractive small-leafed nodding tips. Dark green culms powder covered when young are straight except for occasional minor zig zag near base. Edible shoots bronze and light green. Much used in China for shed tool construction and basketry because of the thick-walled strong wood. Internodes up to 45cm. Very vigorous growth when young.
